    Kicked for Unknown Reason

Recently I have been kicked from some servers for the following reason: "MD5 Tool Mismatch: BF2.exe (len=2048)". Can anyone tell why this is happening? Thanks

You either have hacks, have edited some of the BF2 files or have programs that are interfering with Punkbuster. Have you installed anything lately?

I think your file probably just corrupted, reinstall should fix it
i found this i donno if it will help.

That provides a generic explanation of what an MD5 is used for. In our case we use this integrity checking on stock game files to help ensure they haven't become corrupted or been tampered with. The list of files this covers is shown in the pbsvuser.cfg section of our Recommended Configs thread. Because of the potential for files to become corrupted kicks like this are generally ignored and not considered as evidence of cheating.

In addition to integrity checking we use the MD5TOOL built into PB to look for specific file names in the game folders, so this is used to look for known cheat files - cheats that may not be running or may otherwise go undetected.

So to understand the distinction and be able to recognise which MD5TOOL violation is a cheat and which isn't you need to know which is a stock file and which isn't. An MD5TOOL violation for a stock file like uo_cgamex86.dll is just going to be an integrity issue and not evidence of cheating, an MD5TOOL violation for anything else is going to be a cheat.
