    installing problem

    Hi there
    Didn't find anything.
    My problem is:
I bought the COD4 german version. Then i tried to install it. But in the middle of installing, it doesn't continue, and my drive only sounds "chrr KRRRZ tut.. chrr KRRRZ tut.."
i gave the COD4 back to the shop i bought it, there they tested it and said, the CD wasn't good. So i became a new CD COD4.
But there, i have the same problem. it always installs to the middle, and then the drive sounds and it stoppes.
don't know why. other PC CDs like ET:Quake Wars and so isn't a problem.
    my settings:
    Windows XP SP2
    Intel Core 2 CPU
    T7200 2.00GHz
    2.00Ghz, 2,00GB RAM
Grafik: Nvidia GeForce Go 7900 GTX

there a picture where i have this problem during installing:

I had this exact same problem and
after getting the second Disk I thought I was getting Boot leg counterfeit
Disks because, like you it happened again. So I Cleaned the disk blew the
dust out of my Hard drive and started over & what follows fixed everything!

uninstall every thing related to COD4.
next do not use the DIRECT X9c that comes with the game
go to the internet and search for Direct X9c to find the latest version
and place a new fresh install of Direct X9c in your main (C) Drive
there is a problem and a patch for people with Direct X10 installed but
      this is a different issue.
Now reinstall COD 4 Do not use any of the Extras on the Disk at this time!!
This should allow you to do a clean install.
Last turn off everything and RE-Boot your Computer.
      I hope this helps you
