    16 KS w/M60 & Demo Guide

Guide to Recording Call of Duty 4 Gameplay with Demos:
    1. Make sure the console is enabled by going to Options > Game Options > Enable Console [YES]
    2. While in-game, open up the console with ` and type "/record test" (replace test with whatever you want your demo to be called) and hit enter. You should now see the text "RECORDING test: 10k" in the bottom left hand corner.
    3. When you are done recording, open up the console again and type "/stoprecord" and hit enter.
    4. * Close out of Call of Duty and go to "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\demos". You should see a file called "test.dm_1". Right click and copy that file.
    5. * Now go to "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\ModWarfare" and create a folder called "demos". Open that folder and paste "test.dm_1".
    6. * Open CoD4 Multiplayer back up, and click the Mods button at the main menu. Select "ModWarfare" and press Launch. Call of Duty should restart, this time with a blueish tint.
    7. Now, open up the console and type "/demo test". Your demo will now be loaded and played back. There are no control functions (pause, rewind, etc.)
    8. Type /disconnect to close out of your demo.

*Steps 4-6 will not be necessary when (if) a patch is released that allows demos to be played back from regular CoD4 instead of just ModWarfare. Reference.

There is also a free utility to play back your demos called CoD4Player.
    More info and download here.

    Benefits of recording with demos:
-Very small file size allowing you to capture lots of footage.
    -No lag/FPS hit when recording
-Ability to turn your graphics up when video recording
-Ability to use video recorders that Punkbuster doesn't like, such as Gamecam

    Downsides to using demos:
    -No rewind function
-You have to watch the whole demo to find what you want to record (You can't just skip to the end
    for that awesome headshot)
-Only your character's first/third person view (no free spectating)

Now that you know how to record and play back demos, you can use a video recorder such as Fraps to get a video file of your gameplay. Then, you can edit, compress, and upload your video.

I'm not very good at editing myself, so you're on your own there. Here is a
    good compression guide though, http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/ma...ad.php?t=81845
There are a ton of options for uploading, but the most popular sites seem to be http://www.youtube.com and http://www.filefront.com.

Yes, it's not like BFR, this is all client side.

                Whoa, awesome! Thanks.

Could I just post up the file that is saved when I save a demo, and let my friend download it? I don't have an ingame recorder D:

Yes, just have to upload it. Your friend would just have to put it in the proper place and follow the steps.

You can download CoD4 Player here: http://www.cybopat.net/vb_cod4player_eng.php

Pressing 9 should remove the HUD.

                        So, wait.
How can you get footage of other players and the action in the battlefield? like a 3rd person on everyone?

If you spectate, then record a demo I think it'll work.
