    Lag in SP?!

Hello I've just joined the forums since I have some problems with the game.

    My rig:
    8800GTS 320MB
    Intel Core 2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz
    2GB ram
    Vista 32bit

I use the recommended settings from the game itself and I'm having stuttering and lag almost the whole time when playing. FYI my resolution is 1024 at 7.. (forgot the rest ) Everything is at his highest with bodies on medium.

And at multiplayer I have the can't connect to server thingy that 75% of everyone seems to have, and when I actually joined a game it lagged so badly that I can't see where I'm going. I seriously need help... other games seem to be lagging a lot too all of a sudden... Company of Heroes is stuttering a lot, just as Team Fortress 2 and Guild Wars sometimes. I have about 60% of the ram avaiable when I start the game, the rest is already in use by processes. Don't know if that is the problem.

Sorry for any grammar mistakes. My first language is not english.

You shouldnt lag with your rig. Maybe your cpu is overheating?? IDK but it sounds like hardware issue. also maybe you should try closing all unncessary programs using ram b4 playing game.

Well my CPU shouldn't really be overheating since he almost never reaches above 50% use. Tried shutting down as many programs as possible, doesn't help.

Check your CPU temp. I've read on online forums that many people do not place heatsink fan correct on C2D if you built it yourself. I have below spec and have no lag at 1280x1024 setting (avg 50-70 fps) so i see no reason why yours should:

        C2D 2.13g
        8600gt
        vista 32bit
        2g ram

How do I see my CPU's temp? And I didn't build it myself, it was pre-made.

BTW, the lag is in SP for the poster above me. MP doesn't even work ...

Using Everest I can't see my CPU's temp, only motherboard...
Now that I think of it, I do have a blue screen saying that the computer needs to shutdown occasionaly.

My FPS is at a steady 55-80 when outdoors, 55 only being on very heavy shootouts. But it just randomly drops to 0 and straight back to 60. Indoors it's even 100-220 sometimes and it randomly drops to 0 there aswell. I'm not really enjoying playing the game like this and multiplayer plain out sucks, connecting doesn't work at 9/10 servers and the lag there is unbelievable. But more people seem to have that problem while not having the same as I have in SP. Help needed ASAP!

I fixed the problem, I've downloaded CpuIdle which is a CPU optimizer. And now it doesn't lag at all, occasionally a hic-up but nothing like what I had before. My Multiplayer problems are still there though..
