Some advice please if possible

I just got call of duty 4 and i play the SP and the MP and let me just say i live both.But i have one question can i edit my in game name since i like to change it because I'am starting clan for cod4 and i like to use my clan ttag and my rank.

Ia'm also wondering if i can change my in game name will it effect my in game rank ?

Yes you can change your name by going into the settings. It doesn't affect any of your perks or anything else as far as I know. I changed mine and it didn't seem to do anything bad.
