Shotgun is an amazing backup if you can pick it up. I don't use it solely because of the lack of range, but I've seen amazing amounts of devastation done by it.

Yeah, I recommend when you come across a shottie in-game, switch to pistol and then press 'F' to replace the pistol with the shottie. It rocks as a secondary weapon and is much more effective in most situations. -
The only problem with the shottie is that it doesn't do any damage past a certain point (maybe 8ft I'd say). As a result, you're either close enough to 1 shot or you don't even scratch them.Comment

Exactly. If you've ever fired a combat shotgun, you'd know that's pretty close to reality... maybe a little too close as most have a 4-5m max effective range against an armored opponent. But, as small as the maps are, the nerf was probably needed.
If you've ever used a shottie in BF2/2142 or other game and liked to use it, the shotguns in game are a great second weapon.Comment

By the way I wasn't saying that the shottie should be buffed, just saying that it's not up to CoD2 shottie standards

heh to be fair isn't hard to have better hit detection than BF2, beside every CoD game I've played has always been right on the money in this department :).Originally posted by [MBMG] AerialzOhh, hit detection seems much better than BF2 as well.
Might have to pick this up as soon as I finish upgrading :)Comment
