i was playing just fine the past few days then all of the sudden today everytime i try to play my screen goes black then immediately to desktop with no reason why.

Go to:
driveLetter:\Documents and Settings\userName\My Documents\Battlefield 2
Delete dmp, logoCache, mods, and profiles. You can recover your account when you login. That should reset settings to the default.
