LAV-25... what does it fire?

The LAV-25, American's APC in the game, fires apart from its chaingun and machineguns rockets/missiles as a secondary weapon. In the real world there are no rockets/missiles on the LAV-25.
Althought the ingame vehicle 'looks' like the standard LAV-25, is the weaponry taken from the LAV-AT, which carries a TOW installation?

I am doing some research on the vehicles used in BF2.
Many thanks to whom can clarify the above, as mine is only a guess :)

I found the above as well (wiki is always the 1st )
But that doesn't say anything about rockets.
Apparently the standard LAV-25 has more guns than the ingame one.
My guess BF2 uses the weapons of the LAV-AT but the model of the LAV-25.

The LAV in the game has been the Bradley's weapon suite IIRC. 25mm chaingun and TOW launcher. Can't recall which LAV variant is meant to have tow's

It only has a TOW so it can take on a tank,just there to keep the game even i guess

the LAV-25 must have different versions in real-life, thats probably the standard but im sure they got like AT version, support version, etc :)

Agreed that the BF2 LAV has the weapon suite from the Bradley IFV but this was probably put in by the game designer as a balance issue by the designers. In real life the LAV-25 would be supported by LAV-AT's but that would entail creating two game models. Giving the vehicle both weapons in real life would take it beyond it's Light Armoured Vehicle mandate.

In general, when an anti-tank variant is created from an existing APC, the vehicle loses most if not all of its troop carrier ability as the space it taken up by the missile system and ammo.

Most of the APC's in the real world have 20mm-30mm cannon and 2-4 anti tank missiles. LAV has a 25mm cannon, not .25mm as someone said lol. That would be awfully small projectile to inflict any damage, even to infantry. For comparisson, the assault rifles have 5.56mm or 7.62mm caliber.

Gen Vlade no one said .25mm, where did you get that from? But yeah, the only way to get a .25mm projectile to do any damage would be to run hypervelocity rounds. Even then they'd need to be long like needles to have enough mass not to be deflected by air currents. Interesting things would happen if you were running rounds at around Mach 15. The energy released from the impact would do more manage than the actual projectile.
