Well I just picked mine up, its right here in front of the monitor see. It appears that the GS store that I got it from had to wait on a drop shipment so it was mid afternoon. Maybe Ill get to install and play it tonight but i cant right now Im in the middle of doing yard work and I have to take care of real world stuff first. Being the dad and old bites it some times. Iguess thats life. . . . . . .Red

Man I wish my town had a game store besides Wal-Mart b/c Wal-Mart gets the games like 2 or 3 days later.

I enjoy the game for the most part for what I am able to play right now (GFX card on life support).

The main gripes I have are several key issues.
-Too many levels where your squad does 90% of the fighting for you and is constantly in your way. I understand this is realistic but this game is not about realism the last time I checked.
-The levels are over far too fast. This was especially frustrating with some of the early levels like the ship. Not only was the level really short, but your squad did most of the fighting here and as a player I did not get to really enjoy this map. While other maps like the one from the demo could have been a lot more too it. For instance you rescue the tank yet you can not take the top gun positions and then once it is done, you draw up plans to defend the tank... yet you dont come back to that mission until that whole fighting sceen is over. CoD1 did a great job of playing out an entire map multiple ways through different attacks. You move in an take an area and then brace for the counter attack as wave after wave moves in after you and thus the entire area plays out different. These maps are nothing like that with just straight up linear play so far.
-Story line. Its not that it is a bad story line but rather they take up too much time with trying to make it seem real. Such as the car ride and Jackson in the wreck. In this case... less would have been more.


The things I do like.
-Weapon selection is great.
-Maps look great. Very detailed and real.
-Love the modern feel to it.
-Love the action when I can actually fight without my squad doing all the work.

Overall it is loads of fun but I am think they could have done a few things better. I hope we get to see more through either a patch or expansion pack. CoD4 is awesome in spite of its flaws.

I know, I know. Im guilty as charged so Ill have to take my beating like a man. Sigh.

Ive already got my rear handed to me a bunch of times, in COD4, because I dont know the controls yet. I was trying to switch to my nade launcher and wound up poping a flash granade in my face. LOL. I guess Im a Noob again. . . . . . . . .Red

Just went to my local Asda, they had a midnight release on it (as they are open 24/7) lol they only had 2 copies, but mine is currently installing.

Just hope it is playable on my current rig lol
