Need help with connection!

Hi guys i just started my foundation (freshman) Year @ Newcastle University and i need help i try to connect online on BF2 with my existing account on my lappy cause i left me desktop back home but it would not go through same goes for steam my friend said that its blocked by the uni so basically no p2p or online gaming any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'd have to talk to the computer center, or w/e the IT department is called by Newcastle. Couldn't find the dept on the uni's website. Hopefully you can plead your case, but before you call make sure you have the full list of ports necessary for BF2 to function.
TCP Ports
27901, 28910, 29900
UDP Ports
16567, 27900, 29900, 55123-55125

I'm not sure if that's the entire list or not, but it should get you started.
Bottom line, if the admins have the ports blocked and don't want you gaming then you're probably not going to get to.
