Crash to desktop unknown dynamic value option

I keep getting the error message "Unknown Dynamic ValueOption 800x600"
and i get a crash to desktop.

I'm trying to run it on a brand new laptop with capable stats that meet the requirements.

Intel core 2 due T7300
2 gigs ram
direct x 10
Nvidia geforce 8600m gs 512mb
vista

I have updated the drivers, tried reinstalling, rebooting, changing the screen resolution, changing the full screen option to "0". Changed the con files to "VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@75Hz"

I dont know what else to do! Please help.

play it in DX9 and see if it does it.. if so then you may need to reinstall the OS.

What kind of laptop is it? I have the same issue with my Thinkpad X61 which has a 1024x768 50Hz display. I don't think BF2 can handle the 50Hz. Even adding renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1 to mods\bf2\Settings\VideoDefault.con doesn't help.

AFAIK, the message basically means that the game is trying to run at it's minimum resolution and your display can't handle it.
