Wake 2007 viewdistances

I never really played wake before. Couple of rounds here and there.

However the server I ping best on has introduced it to the IO rotation, so I bouce it every now and then.

I was just wondering what sort of vire distances you should be able to get on it. It struck me as being excessively clear the other day. I took a screenie, but forgot to save it.

Are you meant to be able to snipe from one arm of the island clear across to the other? I was on the south hill by Airfield, happily sniping people who were running across the bridges on the northern arm of the island.

Is that normal?

Yes, it is possible to make shots from one side of the island to the other. There are various Youtube movies showing some sweet shots.
However, usually it's just good luck being able to hit a person at that sort of range!

I've never had a problem firing from one side of the island to another.
