Problems joining SF games

Hi guys, I do apologize for yet another Tech Support thread, but this is getting a little irritating.

I had BF2 Patched to 1.41, and it plays fine. After I got SF, it installed fine, and then gave me the standard 'lightning' error message. I applied the fix, and the game starts fine. I can play single player games well enough, but I cannot connect to any online games. It loads the server, but exits to the lobby after the "verifying client data" part. It tells me that the server is set only to accept people using the same version, even though my filters are set to screen servers using the same version. I suspect it's a software problem, and I'd appreciate any help.

Dell Inspiron 6400 Laptop

Intel Centrino Dual core CPU, 2x 1.6Ghx cores
1GB of ram
80gb 7200rpm HDD
GeForce Go 7300, 256mb
Windows XP

You need to re-patch to v1.41 after installing Special forces.

hoo boy.. another 4 hour download!
I almost wonder if it's worth it to fix EA's mistake.

After you have downloaded and installed the patch, maybe burn it to cd instead of deleting it.

Or you could just save it to your HD.
