  • Yet another tank-crash to desktop thread.

Well, i load the game up, it goes to the screen with the tank, full black screen, then back to desktop.. I recently got a new (old) monitor, it's really large. I run at 1280x1024 resolution. I've tried editing video.con files but nothing has helped. Here's what it says in Dxdiag.

    Radeon9800 series
    ATI technologies Inc.
    ATI Radeon Graphics Processesor AGP(0x4E48)
    Internal DAC(400mhz)
    128.0Mb
    1280x1024(32 bit) (60hz)
    default monitor.

If you need any other system specs, please tell me how to find them and i'll gladly post them.. i just want to play the damn game >.<

    Bump, please halp :'(

and this mite not work (works on lower end cards) but try lowering ur agp speed to 4x instead of 8x

right click on desktop > properties > settings > advanced and on one of those tabs there should be something about AGP and u can like set it lower. then reboot. then go to My Documents and delete the Battlefield 2 folder

Try running dxdiag again. Go to the display tab and try disabling AGP texture acceleration.

Re: Yet another tank-crash to desktop thread.

Have you tried a complete manual uninstall and reinstall? Do this first.

Try going to the BIOS and setting your AGP aperture to either 4x/8x depending on your motherboard. Check that you have set the AGP memory to 128MB, umm.

Right click on desktop > properties > settings > advanced. Go to 'troubleshoot' tab (or something like that). Try turning down/off hardware acceleration and experiment with the 'enable write combining' box to see if that helps.

The 9800 is kinda weak, but it should work

agp aperture should be in ur bios not agp speed. agp speed should b in ur video card control panel. not sure why its not
