Good grief.

At 60,000 points you get promoted to 2nd Lieutenant. Sgt. Major of the Corps was not a promotion. It was merely awarded to the top 50 players of the month. It only existed before they introduced the new points/ranking system and added the Officer ranks (2nd Lieutenant on up).

They removed the Sergeant Major of the Corps rank in 2005 a few months after BF2's release, however, it remains in the data base when checking through the games stats page, under Next Rank. Everyone sees it at some time or another. Just do a search, you'll find tons of threads on the subject.

the whole 'ranking' thing is 'fun', but it has killed the mod scene. people are more interested in points than they are trying out new mods.

Indeed, the new mods that come out are usually hyped up by a lot of people (PoE2 for example), but then after a couple months or even weeks, the excitement dies down and most people go back to playing Vanilla, just leaving the really dedicated people on the mod.

its just something they forgot to take out of the game at 60,000 you will get 2nd lt.
