placed 1st and got a silver star?

has anyone else experienced this, or is there something else i need to complete to get the gold star. i placed first by a few points and was awarded the silver star. and yesterday i placed second and got a bronze. um, help?

It's likely that the commander of the opposite team scored higher than you. His score is shown at the bottom of the opposite teams score sheet.???

I don't understand what the commander of the opposite team has to do with your score, but the only explanation is that you were first during the whole round, but then at the end your commander got the gold when your team won and his points got doubled.

Yep, thats what I meant. I just overlooked the fact that your own commander (not just the opposition) also has his score shown at the bottom of the screen rather than being shown on the highly visible leaderboard, even if it looks like your 'topping' the table.

Edit: So even if you think you are top, on closer inspection, a commander beat you to gold thanks to the x2.

Players can also exit the map and therfore no longer show up when you pull up the player roster and if they had more points than you will get a higher medal.

I think it's BS, but that's how the game works.

Yeah, most likely, the Commander got a higher score and the medal. I've often said it irks me that the guy doing all the work gets second place, while the Commander gets the gold for sitting on his hands or spamming supply crates. We're all kinda stuck with this sh...stuff.

This just happened to me yesterday (10/21). I had the high score until one of my team mates in the gunner seat of an MI-28, but he was kicked by the server for tking too many people and didn't come back. So 10 minutes later the round ends and the guy who was kicked gets the gold and I get silver... W T F

also there can be like a tie for first and i guess its random on who gets the medal
