First of all, it's not a spam-bot. These posts are more to get the word out than to get customers in all honesty. Second of all...

Yes, you can learn everything that's teachable at FPSTrainers by experience, practice, etc. But can you learn it as quick? Not even close. This is my favorite example to counter this argument, if you've visited our forum posts on Xfire, gotfrag, etc.:

Say that there's a specific trait that's usually a very good idea, and this is just an example, not saying it's a good idea, but you should flash long A before rushing into pit on CT side with an mp5, to avoid the quick rushers that beat you there and kick your butt. You could do one of two things:
1. Die a hundred times due to this one mistake, not really realizing why it is that you're dying, just thinking "it's luck he got there first," or "I didn't take my knife out," etc. Then just instinctualy decide to start flashing, realize that it's a good idea, and keep doing it.
2. Buy a lesson from FPSTrainers, where you learn this in five minutes. Go have a scrim, die once because you forgot, maybe die again, maybe a couple times, then remember, "hey, that trainer told me to flash here to stop dying," and blamo! You've learned the same thing in 4 scrims and a lesson instead of hundreds and hundreds of basic deaths.

Of course, that example could have been a false one, but please look beyond my lack of integral CS knowledge, and understand what I'm trying to say: that you learn much quicker if you buy a lesson than you do on your own, meaning that you make less little stupid mistakes, and progress onto the things that matter most, easier.

I personally made that video, and personally recorded every demo; no cheating. Trust me. The billions of hours (yes that was an over-exaggeration) of demo recording speaks for itself, I hope.

your trying to make money from idiots (no offence, well maybe a little) who are to lazy (again) to search/ask around for answers to their questions,,

that you learn much quicker if you buy a lesson than you do on your own, meaning that you make less little stupid mistakes, and progress onto the things that matter most, easier.

whole point of doing things yourself is through trial and error like most things in life not seeking the easy way, easy way out :laugh: reminds me of those who buy hacks because they cant handle getting beat by other people so have to pay to win.

How is it idiotic or lazy to want to have somebody teach you how to do something? Is it idiotic to go to school, to read a book, to get a MBL Baseball player to teach you how to swing the bat better? It's not idiotic, it's human nature. We want to learn things, and unless you want to go out and learn everything by personal experience, you learn it from somebody else.

It's idiotic, in fact, to go outside and try to come up with the reason that an apple, upon detaching from its tree, falls to the Earth. Someone's already come up with that. And instead of going out, trying to figure it out, looking at the moon, studying how the sun rises and sets, how the moon changes etc. to figure out the law of gravity, you could just read what Newton has already discovered. Thus is the way with gaming.

Now, a lot of things can't be taught; true. But most of these things can be improved through training nonetheless. You could learn how to swing a bat with better speed through swinging the thing a thousand times, or you could put a donut on the bat (a weight to slow it down), and practice with that. Thus can you learn how to aim better through a little practice game that the trainer shows you (I don't know a specific example of this).

Keep the comments coming, I really enjoy your arguments, they help me dispel myths surrounding the business.

Lol, i wish i had thought of that first. I can imagine the amount of mugs willing to hand over their ££ for gaming lessons.

If your going to spend your money on learning something, waste it on something useful in life like Music lessons, dancing lessons, sports practice.

Anyone who pays for FPS training i'm afraid, really has a distinct lack of mates (although the business idea was genius! :) )

This is an exact copy of a post I just made. Both of your comments are basically the same, so I'll save myself some time :)

So your saying that although millions of dollars are now being given as prizes for video games competitions (TheCGS), it's still idiotic to consider gaming as a whole a serious organization? That makes no sense! Most of the people that come to the site are people that are either really serious about video games, and want to try to get a bit of a helping hand, as it were, to achieve professional status. The other group are people that are entirely new to the game, or just started a while ago, and want some input from a pro to help them get on their way.

(this part isn't carried over) Dancing lessons are great, music lessons, sports lessons too, but as gaming is quickly becoming a serious media outlet, thus gaming lessons a serious thing on which to spend your money.

Gaming is becoming a serious enterprise, whether you like it or not. It's not as simple as, "well it's video games, so it should be free to learn." Now, gaming is raking in millions of dollars, just in the United States, so FPSTrainers is trying to help the organization as a whole, along.
