I consider myself a decent tanker and I've managed to take down quite a few helos with the main cannon, but the jets are a different story. I've taken down maybe a handful of jets, but nothing like you have in these videos. I always try to take down jets, but usually miss, especially at range. Excellent marksmanship!

      But thanks!
so are you recording ALWAYS and only play on Battlerecorder servers "just in case" the opportunity arises to attempt a shot like that and its successful then you have a vid of it?

I have to start recording my ****, atleast turn on fraps and have it at the ready just in case I need to make a vid

again, I watched that video so many times, I cant help to lol when I see that tank go airborne and take out the helo.........AWESOME, great skills man

Getting jets laterally or moving away are a rarity for me too.
you will eventually get one... and once you do, you'll be addicted for good.
        (if your not already)

EA did a phenomenal job compensating for lag in this game.
I am actually used to older games such as Mechwarrior 2, where
you really had to overcompensate for lead to a point where it appears that you have missed your target at your end, but the server sees a connection and scores the hit. When it comes to jets in BF2, they are moving at a speed that I think pushes the limit of what the lag compensation can handle, requiring you to "lag shoot" to some extent unlike most other targets.
I have the fp view of the jet jump shot off the lower dam, and it demonstrates this really well. I didn't use it in the movie because jumps look so much cooler from the outside. I'm sure several times you have observed hits that do no damage... I refer to them as lag misses. I've heard them called server side hit detection failures. Sometimes its because a critical packet doesnt make it through, but most of the time, there's simply not enough lead to compensate for the lag that the software cant handle.
I normally try to track my target as if there was no lag, and just as I fire, I give the mouse a little extra push to overcompensate based on the jet's speed. Watch my shots in the video real closely for these extra pushes at 3:33 and 3:55. I'll probably use that fp jet jump in my instructional tutorial.

        Thanks again!

For Safrguns Revenge, I started out with just frapping first person views.
But... I found that starting a clip frequently messed with my shot, forcing me to learn an extra step on the keyboard each time I had a target to shoot at.
Then i discovered BR. Once I realized what I could do with it, I started slacking off the fp frapping and relied mostly on the battlerecorder files of those that I could find. That was the hardes part of the first movie... finding oman servers with BR running. It took me approximately 10-12 full game BR files to get the footage I needed... and countless hours wading through those files multiple times (without rewind) to get the shots I wanted.

For Animal, I only had a handful of FP views of "good" shots from "revenge" that I wanted to use.
So, I was back to frapping First person. This time I programmed a button on my mouse for the recording keystroke, practiced it a bit, and now I'm pretty good at frapping a shot without it messing with my aim. However, a movie of just FP was just not gonna do. So, after i got some additional in-game frapped kills, I took advantage of our recently aquired practice server (with BR running) and recruited some air targets to fly around and let me shoot at them until I got my harder jet kills and stunt shots I wanted. This enabled me to get the footage I needed in a fraction of the time it would have taken in-game.
Most of the Kubra kills are stunts... (i.e. they weren't trying to kill me) some are in-game.

            W T F !?

            That was simply amazing!

That's what is so great about BF2, with all other games, you've seen pretty much everything and aren't impressed by anything anymore. Not with BF2, it's so deep and fun, and there is always someone out there that pushes boundaries and amazes you.

Magnificent and excellent video. The pure marksmanship and excellence was maybe overshadowed by the fact that the video didnt contain pure 1 vs 1 moments (like Camaxides video had tank vs tank battles).

Do you have any tips on how to practice or train to shoot down aircraft?

LOL... probably... why you think I spend so much time playing video games?

Thank you!... yes I do. When I get my new ram and card in, i'll be working on a more instructional/less entertaining tutorial.

one tip already in post # 18, but here's another...
You've got 40 rounds of ammo, and an average life expectancy of 98 seconds in a tank...
So what you gonna do? Well, I shoot at anything and everything very small and distant while i'm moving... all of the time. Believe it or not, I still havn't quite mastered this yet.

                      Thanks PB!

I love it. Its a very logical, simple, yet overlooked approach.
