Battlefield 1.0 sounds for 1.41

I just hate how they have removed/replaced some GOOD sounds with lousier ones. Heck, they have even removed the sounds of a missile bursting through air, or sound of a TOW turret turning around. Not to mention the kickass APC turret sounds! They had a feeling! Even tank turret turning around is different. And how the shells/mg don't take off where they should be, but instead from the turret/barrel they take off from air (=from middle of the hud)

I just played today the original swedish dice 1.0 after formatting, loved it! Then I had to update to the goddamned canadian 1.41 because of mods. Can I get at least the better soundworld of 1.0 for the messed up 1.41? I want it to be as close to real Battlefield 2 as possible. Canadian version sucks. This is possible in BF1942, at least.

did they really remove the sounds in a patch? i havent really noticed but im trying to tweak my soundcard with softmods and seeing if my sound quality imprves

There are a number of sounds added, taken away, changed. LAV-25 has a changed sound, Abrams has its engine sound changed, Essex has a turret movement sound, just to name a few.

Woah, I didn't even know that and I've been playing since the beginning. I guess it may be because I used to use integrated sound and set it on software. Even though now I have a Razer AC-1 Sound Card and I still have to put it on software because of BF2's horrible support of sound cards.

Yeah, the sounds are far better in the original. Closer to PR's style.

well theres always the demo. it still has a quite a few servers up. I was playing it to test out my mobility 9200 on a laptop.

Battlefield 1942 has the same exact thing. There were lots of sounds with at least some balls on them, but they replaced them with lousy ones.

So frustrating! Why do they have to **** with it.

The LAV sound is almost orgasmic for BF2, compared to the patched one. Even BTR sounds a lot better. Plus the TV missile was better, as it was swaying realistically in the wind while bursting through air. Canadians don't know nothing about making games, they shouldn't let them touch any battlefield series in the future.

found that it was changed in patch 1.03: (readme)

- New engine sounds for the T98 tank.
- New engine sounds for the China/MEC light jeep.
- New cannon sounds on APCs.

Makes me think, they have time to tweak the gameplay and sounds to worse, but no time to really fix things up. Way to go, DICE canada! Bunch of noob coders after a paycheck.

What would changing sounds ever do? I doubt it would fix any bugs or anything of the sort. It's just DICE and EA using patches to change the game for the worse rather than the better.

They should not let the Canadian DICE do the patching, you can clearly see when battlefield games start slowly developing to the worse direction after first patch. Until it's all ruined.

do the demo..pretty much the same as teh v1.0 except with only one map. there are servers still too
