Help Me please~ Bf2 Crashing

Hi Everyone~!

I'm a bf2 fan and i love to play bf2.

I bought a pc recently and installed bf2 using bf2 temp.

I installed it and everything and my pc can run it.
But when i play, bf2 keeps on crashing to the desktop without any messages after I play a few minutes. But the more wierd thing is maps without carriers(strike at karkand) works fine, maps with carriers(gulf of oman, fushe pass, etc.) keeps on crashing....

Wierd eh??

Anybody got an idea please tell me...

Maybe your computer has a hard time running the maps with carriers because they're usually much bigger.
Can you post your system specs and BF2 settings?



Oh, and FuShe doesn't have any carriers .

Um... U see, i play bf2sp64 (the one with a lot of bots comin out with 64 maps instead of 16 player maps on singleplayer) and i spawn 63bots and run the game on high quality. No problems. The game runs real smoothly. No lags.

It's really wierd because, i get in a plane from a carrier and fly around killin helis and jets then suddenly all of a sudden BOOM to my desktop.....

T.T Maybe I got a reinstall it and install it using a different file.

computer updated? Check windowsupdates, clean spyware/viruses from it.

Next do a full reinstall but run crap cleaner after you uninstall it to ensure you removed everything.

Re-install and also make sure you have the latest set of video drivers, also check to see if you need to update your BIOS.

Sounds like your carrier files are some how corrupted. I think you should do a complete reinstall.

You can manually uninstall the game by removing the files and registry keys associated with it. Be sure to follow these steps exactly as they appear to prevent accidental file/program deletion on your system.

note: To manually uninstall the Battlefield 2: Euro Force booster pack you must do a complete uninstall of Battlefield 2 from your system.

To delete the save files:

1. Open My Documents.
2. Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete.

To delete the game files (in the default location):

1. Open My Computer.
2. Open the C drive.
3. Open the Program Files folder.
4. Open the EA GAMES folder.
5. Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete.
6. Close all open windows.
7. Right-click on the Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin.
to edit the registry and remove Battlefield 2:

1. Click on the Start button.
2. Click on Run.
3. Type regedit in the text field.
4. Click File and then choose Export.
5. Name the file Backup and make sure the Export Range is set to All.
6. Click Save; you will now be returned to the Registry Editor window.
7. Click the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
8. Click the plus sign next to Software.
9. Click the plus sign next to DICE.
10. Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete.
11. Click the plus sign next to Electronic Arts.
12. Right-click and choose Delete on any Battlefield 2 folders.
13. Click the plus sign next to Microsoft.
14. Click the plus sign next to Windows.
15. Click the plus sign next to CurrentVersion.
16. Click the plus sign next to Uninstall.
17. Right-click on the key named {04858915-9F49-4B2A-AED4-DC49A7DE6A7B} andchoose Delete.
18. A Confirm Key Delete window will appear, choose Yes.
19. Close the WindowsRegistry Editor.
20. Go to the following folder: C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information (If you cannot find this folder you may have to go to Tools > Folder Settings and click the setting to “SHOW hidden folders.”)
21. Find the folders with the exact same values as the registry keys above and delete them.
22. Empty the recycle bin once more.

Battlefield 2 is now completely removed from your system.

I reinstalled it with a different cd, and guess what,
got another error. T.T

well it says BF2.exe-Application Error

The instruction at "0x00664800" referenced memory at "0x04fa2000". The memory could not be "read".

Click on Ok to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program..

Well.. What do u think?

I really think it ain't a system error, maybe the file is making the error.
I was playing online today on gulf of oman. When i was running to the plane after waiting for like 5 minutes, WHAM error~~!!

Aah! its making me mad....^^

you have system files corrupted through windows.... I suggest a backup and full reinstall of windows.

I downloaded bf2 using utorrent, and installed it with that, but um......
still it ain't working.....

When i join a server, i crash to my desktop right after i see my spawn screen.

My firewall is off um... what do u think the problem is????

I downloaded for 2 days and all i got is an error...

I was crying u know.... Seriously...T.T

your video card may be failing... see if you can run 3Dmark06 without issues.

if the card is failing then it will work and won't work at times but then just die out on you..to be on the safe side if it is best to check now to see what your warranty status is on it and just get ready for a RMA anyway.

Yeah... for me i just patched it to 1.41 and works really good.

BUT, sometimes, very rarely though, it crashes without warning. T.T

For me, before i patched it i crashed every 5~10 minute or so, after i patched it,
no crashes or sometimes a crash after playing like for a few hours...
sorry for bad news but the game crashed after i played 15min!!!! >0<

But just keep in mind that the patch might not fix the problem. Maybe like what sava007 said, maybe my card was failing. It could of been a coincidence..

Oh yeah. If u don't patch it u won't be able to play in a lot of servers...^^
And also, after the patch u can do VEHICLE DROPS!!! IT'S SO AWESOME!!!

It's just so funny when u do commander and kill snipers lying on the road with car drops.

Yeah i haven't tried reinstalling windows, but i've tried to run 3dmark06!

But i couldn't get the file. I think they all need to be payed before i can download it.

OOPs.... found it at filefront... Ill tell u when i did.^^


Oh and with the warranty and RMA stuff, I didn't understand what Rma was...^^

I kind of lack English should i say, and with the warranty it's been like only 2 months since i bought it so maybe i can change it.^^

Do you use crack to run bf2???

Guys I found a solution!!:laugh::nod:

I changed my affinity in my taskmanager and it just works perfectly!!!

Onur, I think u're also using a dualcore processer. Just do what i did.
