game doesnt start up

it shows the battlefield 2 logo then goes to a black screen, but then it just goes back to the desktop. can anyone help?

specs:
quad core 2.4 ghz
radeon x1950 pro
windows xp
2 gig ram

i should mention it works with a **** crack but i cant play online with that with punkbuster
