Depends on the kit. Assault, Engy, AT is get up close and personel, lower KDR but more fun. Medic is usually sit back a bit and pick people off and revive, higher KDR, but feels more like a chor than anything else. Spec ops and Sniper be a sneaky prick and flank, pick off stragglers, blow stuff up. Support, dunno' don't play it.
