7900gt 1024x768 = 30 FPS this isnt right.

Fried has a amd 4200 x2 2 gigs of ram and a xfx 7900gt. He gets between 25-90 fps when he look as allot action he drop s from 90 to 30 in a second. and i know a 7900gt should handle bf2 like nothing speciall at that resolution. Any one what may be the problem?

Could be vertical sync, lack of power going to the card, or overheating I reckon

yeah could be old drivers. wat are the rest of his specs...something else mite be bottlenecking his system

i'm running 7900gt also. everythink maxed at 1280x1024 runs great. even on 64 man servers

what size is it,500watt?

what kind of amperage does it have on the 12v rail?

you can get this info from the sticker on the psu.

let us know as i feel this could be the problem

Well we were building the computer and we bought the case at PC club and bought a cheap one with a psu included not a name brand one but the guy said its more then enough for my freinds sytem. its a 430watt 2 12v rails with a total of 28 amps combined Friend is only running one sata HD 1 case fan 1 dvd rom amd 4200 x2 stock 2 gigs of ram. xfx 7900gt. Im pretty sure this is enough cause i ran a 7800gt on a 350 watt 18 amp PSU and worked fine.

Something is wrong there. My 7600GT alomost max settings (except dynamic shadows and lighting on medium) 4xAA and 16xAF, on 1440x900 running with vsync at 30 to 60 FPS. Could be drivers maybe? What are all his settings? Does he have windows vista? Lots of running proccesses? etc...

he still on XP sp2 only thing he has running while we play is aim.

Try this http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745 delete video drivers , restart computer in safe-mod and run the program , reinstall new drivers

yeah this aint right, My old 7900 GS can max BF2 at a 1400X1050 res and never go under 50 FPS, usually 75+.

could be a faulty card or something.

My 7800GT can max settings on 32 player servers easily with a widescreen resolution (forget which one). On 64 player servers it lags a little bit when there's a lot of commotion. I don't think you should be having any trouble with that card and processor.

how so?my 7600 gt runs everyhting high with aa 4x at 35-40 fps or so.
