I have a very bad problem.

Every single game i own including Bf2 freezes my computer after about one minute of starting it up. It makes the computer not respond to anything and that makes me restart the computer. Please help me as all i own my computer for is gaming and the internet.

And if it helps, it says this when i send an error report when i start the computer back up: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVERS TOP: 0x100000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER_M

OK, this could be a million different things! Ask yourself: when did it first start freezing? That might give you an answer. Otherwise, the graphics card driver or the card itself would be my next best bet.
*check direct X setttings (START>RUN> type dxdiag): any issues reported?
*check video card driver (uninstall, reinstall most recent driver)
*could be a hardware issue (my old Sapphire Radeon announced its demise this way)
    ...go from there...

^ Try what was told above, only I also recommend to delete the BF2 map located in My Documents after you updated your gfx driver since this map holds crucial data from your card and gamesettings based on the old driver..

And find your directx here: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...007_redist.exe

Yeah, pull the thread out of the driver :|:

Update all your video drivers, delete shader cache, check for hardware/driver conflicts, etc.

this has happened to me a few times in the past. turned out to be a dodgy graphics card driver.
do you update your graphics card regularly?
i fixed mine by reverting back to the original version and just waiting for a new driver release.
sorry if this doesn't help, but i can't think of anything else

Camper, how do i check for hardware/driver conflicts?

Ham, i installed the new driver just a few hours before you posted.

Did you uninstall the old ones? Use driver cleaner?

                  Do: Start/run/dxdiag

Hmmm, well it isn´t that neccessary. Try some different drivers if you haven´t already. Maybe sound divers are the problem?

Did you try disabling hardware acceleration like it said in the link I posted above?

^^ Yes, but that makes a different error come up when im playing bf2.

I also just did a virus-scan and i came up with one infected item but there wasnt any option letting me delete it, so i deleted the file that was infected. Will that get rid of the virus?

How long has it been happening? is there someting new you installed, or updated around the time it started? has it been too long to do a system restore?
i know sometimes those microsft updates will screw stuff up, try updating bios drivers along with all your other hardware drivers which sounds like you have updated them allready.

Edit**, worth a try , send EA support a message with the exact error, ya knever know
