But there isn't. I am losing no packets at all, and I know its not server side. I have seen like 50 different posts with the same problems, all different solutions. when im lagging, the computer beeps at me if i try doing other stuff like moving, mouse scroll, jumping, etc.

Is there any way I can optimize how my computer runs the game to avoid this lag? I know you cant do a whole lot to the game itself or Punkbuster will pick it up as cheating.

The Motherboard and processor are the stock ones and are 4 years old. Other parts of the PC are newer...

If you throw another gig of memory in your machine that should kill the lagging.
Unless it is a punkbuster issue you are having. thats causing me to lag.

I can affirm what the previous poster said. I have a somewhat similar machine (P4c @ 2.6GHz, X700) and was experiencing lagging problems before I upgraded from 1GB RAM to 2 GB. Now, lag is no more a problem, except right after you spawn and sometimes right at the end of a round. I sometimes get the message "there is a problem with your connection" like 1 second before the round finishes, but most of the time this has no effect on anything, although sometimes my score will not add up or add up incorrectly.
