What can i do to reduce lag but still be able to run my bf2 on all medium settings? I want to have so low lag that it practically looks like single player. Does increasing your gig help alot? if so then where do i get another gigabyte? And why is special forces so laggy in general? Dell Dimension C521, 1982 RAM, AMD Athlon(tm) 64x2 Dual Core Processor 4600+ (2CPU's), NVIDIA GEforce 6150 LE. what other specs do i need to post?

I think your graphics card is below the minimum requirements, upgrading that would help a lot.

Alot? cause i feel i could be a so much better player with less lag...and i would have more fun.

What graphics card do you have? does it reduce lag and which one do you recommend i should look into? :)

i think he means: do u have AGP or PCI-Express

u can try my guide in my sig. ive heard it has helped for some ppl and it certainly helped a tiny bit for my old 5200. btw having a new video card does make a big diff. with about the same rig, i could go from all low to high/med settings from my 5200 to my 6800gt

I'm not really good with doing technical stuff like that..im afraid that i would change something i shouldnt have and ruin it all. Is there and straightfoward cold hard way to deal with this? like getting a better video card or more RAM?

well 1900mb of ram seems to be enuff. so i would make getting a video card a priority. and my guide shouldnt mess up ur computer and if something were to go wrong, im always here on the se forums

Your video card is definitely at least part of the problem. I am actually surprised the game even runs on a 6250LE. You may want to check your power supply though. DELL power supplies are designed to be powerful enough for the system they ship with, but usually do not consider the possibility of a later major upgrade, such as installing a power hungry video card. Also, you cannot replace a DELL power supply with an off the shelf unit, since DELL conveniently changes pin allocations on its motherboards.

want to know for sure? go to this site, i've posted it a million times, it will scan your system & tell you what pass's & fails & it will give reccomndations.
in the drop down box hit battlefield 2, then hit the "can i run it ' button, i think you have to put active x on , but killer site.

It's your graphics card, roughly as powerful as a super-high end card from... 1996.

really? i had a dell from like 3 years ago and it came with a 500 watt PSU> but i cant replace it cuz it was pretty much hte base of my computer.

i ordered an upgrade for my dell off this site, works great, & your right dell puts low PSU in them , i guess if you pay enough u mite get a kick'r
