Should I buy the SF expansion pack?

besides the cool unlocks for vanilla....

how do you find sf compared to vanilla? The screen shots look good, but how about playability?

    what are your favourite maps?

Its a refreshing change from Vanilla, definitely worth the investment. Plus, there are still loads of servers playing it.

Every map (but, i don't like night ones).

Warlord is basically the Karky of SF. IO rocks on it. Obviously, there is Ghost Town, Mass Destruction and others.

Plus, there are new armies, new weapons and new vehicles (Hind FTW!)

I found it really exciting the first few days, but it didn't hold my attention much longer. The unlocks are the best part I think.

i bought all together when i got my bf2, but i cant imagine not having the SF, or even eu & af, there all good .

ghost town , warloard , they all rock but those are top two IMO. i care least for iron gator & night mapps, thing with the night mapps u or I anyway constally have to shift from night vision to no night vision cause , just like in real life the night vision when u get near light it will allmost blind you, unles they made changes since i used it.

                :salute:

Re: Should I buy the SF expansion pack?

SF is really a great game for IO style play. Though tanks are still present, they are far from the abused rape-machines that you see on Karkand. With the presence of the RPG, they are not the same kind of threat.

The maps are also laid out so you can get between flags somewhat well without having use a jeep.

People will tout Warlord and Ghost Town, but that is the stock bread and butter maps, which are much like Karkand as they are not as dynamic and very flat.

When playing maps like Mass and Surge you can really run circles around the enemy and get them off guard.

You will find less hackers in SF. And the skill level of players seems generally higher. My KDR is always much higher when I jump from SF over to vanilla. You learn to off balance players in SF. Because there are so many ways to sneak around with GrappleHooks and ZipLines. It gets your mind going that you don't aways have to charge into the enemy. If you come in from the sides or behind them...you have them licked quick.

People say it is ugly and boring...well, yeah, is not a day at the beach like Oman. But it is very hard to see in SF. It is dirty and cold. You have to really watch for muzzle flashes and remember spot often because some places are so bumpy and hilly, someone will disappear quick.

You do need a little more power on your rig. Maybe %15 more. But it is really worth it. You'll become one of a special group of players, like PR players, that have a niche in a good community.

I never will understand why more guys didn't buy SF. It really takes the game to a new dimension - literally, it's amazing what the zips and grapples add to the game.

I highly recommend it. The maps are great - certainly Ghost Town and Warlord are tops, but all of them are good. The night maps are great and I really enjoy the Rebel maps.
