Hi everybody,

I was just playing on the =BBUK= 24/7 Karkand/Sharqi Infantry only server, and after owning them for 3 rounds in a row (I dont want to brag, but I had about 65:15 in k/d every round) and in the middle of the fourth round when I was at about 45:12 they kicked me from the server, reaso was "Screen shot was black" or something. I got PB-Kicked for 0 Minutes so I thought "Well ok, go back and ask them what´s going on". So I tried to connect to the server again, but after it finished loading the map, I got kicked from the server again. This time the message was "You were banned from the server for TK´s or by Admin decision" or something like that.
This is the 2nd Server I got banned from just because I am good at BF2. I don´t even know how to cheat and even if I would know how to do it I wouldnt do it. The first time this happened to me at the Fusion-Server I kept on wiping out the Fusion-Squad and they kicked me with the reason "We dont need people like you". WTF? If you cant stand getting killed play Monopoly or Bingo. But dont whine just because someone is better than you.
Sorry for all that babbling on my part and sorry if my English isnt that good. I just wanted to know if I can do anything about it and if the Server-Admins are allowed to ban people for no reason. And how can I prove that there is nothing wrong with my playing?

You answered your own question as to why you were banned from their server. Black PBSS's are used by hackers to cover up what they're seeing.

That's not always the case though. Meh, can't find a link to a fix...

So when I will only use my pistol when engaging one of the server admins. BUT I EVEN MANAGED TO KILL THEM WITH THAT...

I dont think that the black screenshot was the reason for the kick. If my screenshots would come out black I think I would be banned on more than just 2 servers...

Your K/D ratio most likely raised suspicion. Add to that, the PBSS which was black, and you've got a kick or ban.

Black screenshots will happen if the videocard drivers are old, when the game is not the active application, or on some Operating System/videocard/driver combinations. Also, screenshot detour hacks could cause these black screenshots.

In summary, black screenshots might not be caused by cheats or hacks but checking all the videocard drivers and/or possibly directx drivers is advisable.

We also ban for black PB SS's with a note to drop by the forums with their system specs and a dxdiag and if they are legit we might be able to help them out. If not that's just tough. If we can't get a PB SS of a player then they are gone.

They most certainly DO NOT if it is a RANKED server.



To the topic starter:

I would report the server to EA, but the black screens are eh, most any admin will kick/ban for a blank or otherwise questionable PB screen. I would handle that issue first, see if you're really producing blank screens by having an admin of a PB streamed server SS you.

You can try their forums, but like I said on the reporting thing, EA has actually been stepping up a little lately on enforcing the ROE on the ranked servers, so if you're statements are all true you can cause some trouble for these types of servers if you so wish.

As a BBUK member, i have the following to say:

Because of the huge amounts of hacks out there at the moment, we have a policy of taking random screenshots of all users. Obviously, players with extremely high scores are always thought as suspicious, this is just human nature.

We do not kick without a decent reason, and as a lot of clans will tell you, black screenshots are a legitimate reason to be suspicious. They are used by hacking companies to cover up potentially incriminating pictures.

We are not accusing you of any foul play, so if you fix your screenshot problem, please message us on are forums, which can be found here; www.bodybags-uk.com.

i hope you understand why you have been banned. It's not because your too good (70 kills to 15 deaths is classed good), but because your screenshots fail to come back.

dude, if they take a PB screen shot off you, and it turns out black that uasly means u have a third party program running and it covers up ur hacks (if any) there is a bug i know. but dont blame the admins if Punkbusters kick you, =BBUK= is one of my favorite servers because it is well admined, even when 1 isnt on, i talk to alex cos he live sin uk to, he logs onto bf2cc and i tell him who is breaking rules

Hi Sabot,

You may recognise me as one of the BBUK members who was on the server with you for a bit last night - I was actually your squad leader :)

I'm also the senior admin responsible for answering all complaints on our forum.

I can see that your initial post isn't necessarily a complaint directed at BBUK, it's more that our server has been used as an example and the point of your thread seems to actually be to ask how you can avoid this sort of thing in the future.

I have to say that personally I didn't see anything wrong with your gameplay last night. It wasn't me who banned you either, you were still playing when I left and this is the first I've heard that you've been banned.

I have to agree with everything that Alex has said. We do take keeping our servers cheat-free very seriously for the sake of all the clean fun-loving players out there.

It's only natural that those who score highly come under more scrutiny. Yes, you had some good scores, but so did some of our members, so you certainly wouldn't have been kicked just because you're good. We encourage good players to play on our servers, as it gives us more of a challenge :)

Anyway, it sounds as though one of our admins has tried to take a PB screenshot of you, just to be sure there's nothing amiss, but it came back black. As other people have commented, this often happens if someone has a hack, as the hack tries to mask the screenshot.

It doesn't mean you were DEFINITELY hacking (there are genuine reasons that are unconnected to hacks that can cause this)and you'll notice from the kick reason that we haven't accused you, only stated the facts. You will find that a LOT of clans will kick people if screenshots come back black.

I'll log into BF2CC later and find out who banned you and speak to them with the aim of removing your ban, but you'll need to address the black PB SS issue ASAP. If it happens again then I'm afraid the same action is probably going to be taken. I hope you understand why. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience if you are indeed a non-cheating player.....
