Problems opening Battlefield 2

I have started having some problems recently. On my main login to my computer, whenever I try to start BF2, nothing happens. The CD starts spinning and it opens in the processes window (using some memory but not taking any of the processing power). The splash screen comes up and disappears like it is loading, then it just doesn't do anything. I have another login to my computer. It will open through that login, but when I try to play on a multi player server, it tells me that my CD-key is invalid. Any clue what I should do or is a re-install going to be necessary?

i would recommend a reinstall/repatch

and for ur invalid cd key, try going to

start>run>regedit

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE/Software/Electronic Arts/EA GAMES/Battlefield 2/ergc and in ergc, u should see on the right "(Default)" and then double clikc on that. delete everything in value data and type

x9392 and hten ur cdkey without any spaces so it looks like

x9392DMV8274DJI298U in there where DMV82...wouldbe ur cd key. htne hit ok and restart ur game
