    Re: Another Aimbotter

Hey Bauld-Eagle, thats a good Idea! Ill have to get to work on that. I guess that the worst thing that would happen is nothing.

I was thinking that it would be more like the hit boxes that some of the wooden objects have so that you dont get any points for hitting them but they still could be destroyed and respawn, so to speak. This might also work well for getting rid of wall glitchers, shoot the hit box, it explodes and anyone inside takes splash damage? Maybe. . . . . . . . .Red

Wait, do aimbots target hitboxes in walls? i.e. glitchers

One thing that I read in his post that got me thinking was his comment on the screenshot cleaner. He stated that he cant get caught because his hack had a ss cleaner that actually shut the hack visuals off for a few seconds while PB takes a ss. My question is, why cant PB have a random delay after the command for snapping the ss.
        Example:
The hacks shuts off for 5 seconds, but when an admin types in pb_getss xx for whatever player then PB may take 5-30 seconds to take a ss. If its is random then the hack coders will not know how long to delay the visuals. Then an admin could actually take 2 or 3 ss within a minute and ONE of them will get the hack.

This along with Reds idea would drive the hack coders nuts!! LOL

        just my thoughts
For a PB SS to be taken, it has to get the data client side. It doesn't matter what delay you put in there, as soon as it is requested the cleaner will turn them off.

Red what i ment was if you TV a UAV say Chineese UAV on Dragon Valley on the runway you DO get a point for it , simply put THERE ARE STATIONARY HIT BOXES ALREADY , it cant be that hard to put some more on each map.

Any haxors care to try this out for me ? Naaa thought not .

            Re: Another Aimbotter

the hit boxes for things like UAV and players are coded differently I believe, other wise youd see hackers with their gun barrel stuck in the "aim at UAV" position, so the hit boxes that Red is talking about would have to be like bots in a singleplayer game, which is good because if they stuck a "bot" hit box inside of every building then the hackers would aim at the "aim bot" LOL

Red's idea is very good (if it's possible?) and it's surprising that it wasn't implemented when the game was still in production. Aimbots existed before BF2 came out, that's why it's surprising.

              It would make aimbots useless.

Keep playing IO on Karkand and enjoy the aimbotters, the stat padders, the medic whores, retarded admins, all the other cheaters, hackers and all forms of aswipes in general.

                  Re: Another Aimbotter

Ok this is an update. It was suggested by several members here that I send my Idea to EA. I didnt know how long it would take to write it and if it was just a Total waste of time. (pun pun) So I thought about it and decided to do it on my next day off, today. Below I posted a copy of what I sent and put it in thier forums and also sent it to support. If I didnt get it to the right place just tell me where the right place is and I will send it there. I will keep you updated on the results of, the Hour I wasted - maybe - today, sending this.

I am a regular on another BF2 forum and recently had an Idea. The people on the other forum and I often have problems with Cheaters, namely aim bots and wall hacks. My question is this "Would it be possible to put hit boxes inside buildings, walls, and or trees, similar to the ones in the vehicles, barrels or something?"

This would cause the aim bot, which points at the nearest hit box, to point and target these other Hit Boxes and make useing an aim bot almost like a handicap. If the hit boxes were made to explode, when destroyed and like everything else respawn, killing anyone inside the object with splash damage, that would make wall hacks useless.

In the other forum we have discussed this quiet a bit and several members asked me if I would send my Idea to EA. If I havent put this in the right place then please redirect it to the propper place or tell me where to put it and I will post there. Just so you know, I really dont expect EA to have another patch just for my Idea and really dont expect to see it in BF2. But I wanted to know that we, the players, customers, have some Ideas on how to correct some of the issues that BF2 and other FPS games have and that EA (or whoever is in charge of this) has thought of this. This Idea seems to be to simple to have been over looked but you never know. If you took the time to read this and make a post Thank you. I didnt mean to be so long winded but I figured Id only get one shot and wanted to make it count. . . . . . . . .Red

It's a good idea, and if something like that is possible without interfering with general gameplay, then hopefully EA will listen to you and implement something like this.

Knowing EA, they'll move ALL hitboxes inside buildings.

Would adding more hit boxes to every object not dramatically increase lag?

This was something I was wondering about as well. To fool the aimbot the hitbox code has to be exactly the same as that of each players. If there was any difference the programer would make the aimbot ignore the different ones. Which would probably mean you would have to have similiar information from the server going to the "fake" hitboxes. In effect each hitbox would be another player on the server. So if you added say three or four per flag you could double or triple the server load in effect. Which would obviously suck as most servers can barely handle what they have now.

It's a good idea, but it may just not be feasible with current server and bandwidth limitations.

Of course I'm just theorizing here.

..This is the end of the discussion. I have ended it with my never-fail catch phrase. Whatever proof you have no longer matters, I don't even have to look at it. This is the end all be all tactic to combat either having your hack exposed, or, if you're just some nerd who enjoys making an argument based on 6 words and no facts.
