Sound problem

hello, i have a creative sound card (creative audigy SE) but i cant select Ultra high in sound settings.
When i first installed the game and went to check out the game i did change it to Ultra high but when i installed the 1.41 patch i cant change it anymore

An Audigy SE (Sucky Edition) can not and never could run BF2 sound on Ultra High. For starters Ultra High requires a card with hardware acceleration (a card with either an EMU10K2 or EMU20K2 on it), and that card needs to be able to support EAX5, of which the only cards that can do that are the X-Fi's (and not the POS known as the XtremeAudio, which is nothing more than a renamed Audigy SE).

Hate to tell you this but the card you have sucks for gaming (all sound processing is done on the cpu just like onboard. The only thing that card has over onboard sound is it actually supports EAX, albeit done in software instead of on the card.

So with that said, your settings should be software mode only and no higher than medium. And just for fun in case you missed it in the BF2 Readme,

yes but in 1.02 or so i did but it to ultra high..

prob a glitch. u prob werent getting ultra high. like in the old patches, ppl could set their graphics to "ultra high" which was no different than "high" its just a name. in fact, in the old patches, i could (through editing some file) set all my video settings to "off". textures: "off" effects: "off" but it would still give me all low settings

Bingo. That and the fact that the X-Fi wasn't even out at the time that the game came out (the cards came out 2 months after the game), yet the settings were there.
