Joystick Help Please

I have a Saitek st290 Pro Joystick, whenever I fly with it in BF2 the chopper/jet always twists to the left. The joystick has "3-d Rudder Control", the jet always is moving the the left so I have to compensate which is no way to fly. I know of no way to calibrate the joystick, If I go to control panel->Game Controllers->st290 pro it has information and you can test all the buttons/axis but you cannot calibrate it. I've tried downloading a system registry information kit from the saitek website which is supposed to recalibrate it but it does nothing. This problem only happens in BF2. Any and all help is appreciated.

hmmm i dont have a joystick anymore, but is this a new joystick? or is it old? because if it is old, it could be just stuck because of the dirt and the like maybe, or just broken?

or is it new?

I bought it about a year ago, It's never been abused or dropped. Perhaps I should open it up and blow out the dust?

Scratch that, I opened up the joystick and there was no dust, it's all electrical anyway. I reseated the electricals, I noticed some white substance all over the moving parts, I assumed it to be a form of lubricant so I left it on. Any ideas?

your problem used to happen to some logitech's in bf2 a long time ago, but I haven't heard of anyone having problems with it anymore. I'm pretty sure if you installed the saitek joystick software you wont be able to calibrate the joystick in the windows control panel. I would try this:

in bf2 controls: reset controls to default. then put config the joystick again.
or figure out how to uninstall the saitek software so you can use the control panel calibrate.

I installed that saitek software once, and noticed i couldn't calibrate because the software is supposed to 'auto calibrate'. Luckily, i had planned on doing a re-install of XP shortly after that, which solved that problem. :)

I uninstalled the software but I Still cannot calibrate, I've attached screenshots that show what I'm getting. Thanks

OK everyone thanks, I got it fixed, I recalibrated it. I had to remove ALL saitek information from the registry then restart. That took it back to the normal calibration screen. Thanks for the help, this thread can be locked/closed/deleted.
