Damn...New CD key needed?

well i recently got a new computer and installed bf2 but my cd key does not work, is this because i used the cd key on my old computer?

But i could install and remove it on my old comp with no problems. Or is this how cd keys work?

You mistyped it, most likely.

Edit: CD keys are used to install a game. You could install your CD with your CD key on multiple computers, you just wouldn't be able to play online with each other, only local (AFAIK).

Was your CD key ever working on your new computer, or has it not worked the entire time?

If it was working at one point, then you can go to "Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore" and select a date where it did work. If it never worked, I'd say reinstall...

I think I might've misunderstood something with my first reply, do you have it installed now, just can't play online?

No my CD Key has not worked on my new comp...for the entire time...and yes bf2 is installed...and yeah it just doesn't let me play online

maybe its down to vista?

Hello! I hate to have my first post be one that seems to show itself so often, however, after searching and trying several different things, it seems I have no other option.

Situation: I have the exact same error as the person who started this thread, and the above image might as well be a screenshot off of my own pc, as it is exactly the same. I tried re-entering the reg with x9392 + my CD key, and no luck. Before that I tried a re-install of BF2 and a re-install of the latest patch (1.41 IIRC).

Machine: I just purchased the machine (HP w/ quad core) on Saturday. It is running Vista and is plenty capable of handling this game. My real question is there a known compatability issue between BF2 and Vista?

Any and all help would be appreciated, as I am looking forward to moving my Battefielding from a local internet cafe to my home...where I can look at porn while the map is loading. :laugh:

Anyone? I have since re-installed the game twice and the patch as well. I have followed the instructions off of the EA site for the "Battlefield 2 code" program, edited regedit and still no luck. I have now searched back through 5 pages under "x9392" and still have yet to figure the problem out. Any help...please!
