I agree, if they were looking for a better way to do it the second time round, i.e. BF2142, perhaps they should have made the points system more team based, with kill scores being a more personal score for the round.

But then what do I know...

thats actually a good idea...would mean they have 2 kill 4 points

Well what I meant was to step away from the individual efforts, you stills gain a kill ratio at the end of the round, but it does not weigh in on your score as much as teamwork stuff.

You gain the badges, but not the points for unlocks etc...

ah i see....i THINK they shoulda made each badge grants you bonus rank points (in BF2) and this rises as you gain rank in the badge profiency...and also when you gain basic for example sniper..then you get upgrades for your weapon like a better scope...then when you get veteran you get more range...you know stuff like that....

im just thinking out loud...or not really...typing
