ha...snipers in CQB...what a dumb picture that is painting in my head! i'm visualizing a bunch of snipers on each team with the m95 hopping around trying to no-scope one-another.

With the SVD and type 88 that is actually quite fun.
Most people in BF2 (that I've spoken to) think the M249 SAW sucks, BUT IT DOESN'T.
The freakin gun owns ANYTHING at close range, and still does well at medium range. Sure, it can't really hit anything at long ranges, but that isn't exactly a valid reason to not use it.
Another underappreciated gun is the M16A2. It's probably one of the most balanced weapons in the game; it can do everything, and it does everything rather well.
It has to be the G36C. I never really get killed by it much, its great at long range, good at medium range and lets just say ok at close range ( bloody Bunnyhoppers ).
:P
Wow, the M16 isn't under-appreciated, put simply it sucks hard. If anything, it's over-appreciated.
If the poll was still open, I'd vote for the L85A1. I don't know, it just seems so awesome sometimes, but you barely see anyone using it in favour of the G36E, I've been trying it and liking it more and more.
