    BFG 7600gt or EVGA 8600gts

hmmmmmm, all i want is good fps. idk anything about it, but i just want it lol.

i have a 7600gt from bfg right now, and idk, i just want something newer i guess. i was looking at this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130086

is this any good? can i sli this card? i know i can with the 7600gt but idk, would i rather be better off buying another 7600gt to sli my rig now or just get this card from evga?

i dont have windows vista yet, but can i still use the card without it?

can u sli the 8600gts or no, if so, would i be better off putting that in sli over a 8800gts from evga thats like 279.99?

help me out here guys. thanks.

You won't need SLI for BF2 if your using a 8600 GTS.

8600GTS and I'd go with a BFG card great warranty and performance.

Also it will run fine on XP if thats what you have now.

But if I were you I'd wait till November/December before upgrading *hint hint* prices are going to come down alot more when the 9800's are released! :)

Also watch the power consumptions with any cards you go to cause you may upgrade but not have a power supply being able to run it.. watch "Single Rails" not just watts.

Better to have an 8800GTS non-SLI. SLI is 140% performance for 200% price. The benefits of SLI come from added VRAM and processing power, meaning more data can be crunched, not faster (aside from high resolutions when it becomes too much for one card to handle). If you have a killer monitor that can do at least 2048x1536@80Hz and upwards, and want to run 4xAA on top of that, go ahead and run SLI.

PLEASE don't SLI a midrange card, ever! (If you can call the 8600 midrange, maybe in price - performance lacking). The 8600 GTS is better than the 7600 GT, you'll definately see an up in FPS. An 8800 GTS (just the 320) will kill SLI'd 8600's.

You can use the card with XP.

Just don't SLI the 8600.. SLI is wasted on midrange cards when you can buy a much better (better performing) for the same price as two (unless they're sold at the dollar store).
