Does anyone believe in joining squads anymore? In real combat every soldier has to be in some kind of squad. So why doesn't BF2 automaticly place you in a squad when you join? This makes the commanders job a little more enjoyable, and it makes for a better more teamwork based game? what are your thoughts?

well even in squads, ppl dont work together. they arent even in the same place. usually squadmembers are spread out across the map, so it wouldnt be worth doing

Yeah, people don't work in squads as it is. It wouldn't change anything...

Re: BF2 Force join squad
I will prefer to decide whether i want to be in squad or no! There are some ppl that are like Lone Wolf, and they enjoy it... i think so. Sometimes I don't want to be in a squad, and this is only when I will go for a switch shooting- you know SL will leave squad and then I will be the SL and in while some1 will respawn in my helo :evil:Originally posted by Mogul2 View PostDoes anyone believe in joining squads anymore? Re: BF2 Force join squad
The last thing I want to do is be in a squad when I'm alone in certain vehicles.
For example:
A. - A Bomber Jet.
Reasoning: It's annoying as hell to have some newbie laser guide a missle the ground when your jet is only 20m away. This has happened to me a lot when I was in the middle of an intense below 100m dog-fight against an F-18/J-10 on Daqing... The last thing I need is to lose 5 bars of health in an already bad situation, especially when a J-10 doesn't need the help to kill an F-15.
I usually only make a squad and lock it; inviting people I know to be my co-pilot.
B. - An Attack Helicopter.
Reasoning: When I'm solo'ing, having some random newbie spawn on me, taking either the Pilot seat and crashing us as a result of not knowing what the hell hes doing, or taking the Gunner seat and getting us killed because of the enemy helicopter being able to TV us with impunity. Either way, when I'm solo'ing - I will only squad if I'm in the mood to teach a newbie how to properly fly or gun over VOIP.
Usually when a capable pilot or gunner comes around; I just make a squad and lock it, inviting only him to join.
C. - A Tank.
Reasoning: This is my biggest pet peeve. I hate it when retards in my squad spawn on me, and steal my tank when I'm in the midst of repairing it.
I refuse to ever be in a squad, let alone be a squad leader when I'm in a tank.
D. - An APC.
Reasoning: Same problem as the Tank.
I refuse to ever be in a squad, let alone be a squad leader when I'm in an APC.
