FIX: Your connection to the server has been lost.

I figured out a fix for the, "Your connection to the server has been lost." error people have been getting lately. The details of it can be found in the third post down, here:

This is only a temporary fix, but it appears to be working perfectly. I hope this helps some folks out.

Do you have to delete the file each time you want to play?

Unfortunately, yes. The way PunkBuster is setup to work, the PnkBstrA.exe will attempt to write this file everytime you connect to a Battlefield 2 server. I posted an update in the thread about this. I'd suggest putting a shortcut to the pb folder on your desktop, so you can easily do this.

How is this a fix then? A bigger pain in the *** doin that then just waiting, and clicking ok. Isn't it? Really wish they'd get on fixing this though!

Its probably quicker just to press "connect" twice than to have to delete the file each time.

I've created a desktop shortcut for this. Before I launch BF2, it takes about three seconds to delete the file. I play on servers that are generally full, so being able to connect on my first try is very helpful to me. Take it as you will. If it isn't helpful to you, you don't have to use it.

BF2 stalls on me for 10-15 seconds everytime I try to connect on my first try. I'm sure this varies by person, though.

Hopefully PB will fix it in a new release.

Yeah i guess it could be handy if you use QTracker, need to join threw XFire, or something like that.

You could always schedule a task in Windows to delete that file upon booting. Not familiar with .bat syntax but I'm sure it's pretty elementary if someone knows how to?

Yeah, and then make you have to press Enter 50 times in a row to spawn

Then Patch 1.5 comes out to save the day, by removing the Enter key.

Those bastards! They're gonna nerf the 'enter' key too?!

Added to the sticky. Hopefully it will help some.
