Need help with CTD

I have a new install patched to 1.41. I had no problems running the game & joining a server. I didn't have punkbuster installed, so I would get kicked. I installed PB & it's latest update. My OS is Vista Home Premium so I am running as program administrator via the desktop BF2 icon. Now when I start the game I crashed to desktop almost immediately. Any helpful suggestions appreciated.

After I reinstalled BF2 and all the other stuff that comes with it, I have CTD's now, before that I had none!...

Now with the PB update, I have even more CTDs.
