You have failed to connect; error message.

I love BF2, but ****all, its a problematic game.

Anyway's, I speant 1 hour or so installing the complete collection on my XP pc wich fully suits (and goes over) all the BF requirments and I booted it up after patching all the games and updating PB to be greeted by a match on Wake island. Twas fun. I powered down my PC for the night, and in the morning when I woke up I started BF2 and it took 2 mins to get to the EA logo. Strange I thought, but it worked, and logged onto my account. I looked for my server ( I have one that I play on with my freinds) and it wasn't there. So I tried to connect to a different server and I got:

    Game message:

You have failed to connect. Please check your network connection(s) and try again.

Me = pissed off. I have a reasonable network connection via a router and ethernet cable, and my ping on the one round I played was around 16. I reinstalled the game and repatched everything, and I still can't find my server or play on any others.

The only thing I did between the two Bf2 tries was try and set up a new router, and when failing set up my old one again.

At the top of the screen on the right hand corner the version is:

    1.1.2965-797.0

I am uterly confused: please help.

It's a PB thing, I have firewall off and no viruses and still get it the first time I try to connect

I don't think he's able to connect at all by the way it sounds.

No, it won't let me connect, ever. I am going to try reinstalling, patching and updating BF2 again today, and see if I get any progress.

Which firewall are you using? I've heard of a few people with Zone Alarm that when they would disable it, it wouldn't always disable for some reason and silently block things still.

Windows. I think it might have something to do with the way I installed BF, so I shall try again... 5th time or something. Cheers for the help guys.

I tried again, it still doesn't work.

Is there anyone who can help me?

I tried again, and it didn't work.

Is there anyone that could help me? I am really pissed that I just payed a wad of money for something that doens't work. I would worship the person who could succesfully help me as a god, btw....
