Problem with entering game and server list

This is more of a niggle rather than a problem that stops me playing the game. I have BF2 running as an Administrator in Vista 64 Ultimate.

When I start the game and get to the profile selection screen, I select my profile and click to begin, the game minimizes itself. Once I have maximised the game and go into the server listing, the listing is very ropey. If I refresh more than twice nothing appears, and will not appear until I restart the game.

The third part of all this weirdness is, when I click to join a server, the music fades as though I am going in, then after a few seconds the screen will come back and an error message will come up saying "connection to server to lost", if I then re-select the server I go in successfully.

Like I said nothing that stops me from playing the game, but just irritating niggles that I would like to get rid of.

I get that every time I log on, no idea how to fix it though.

Ehh, ye.

I think everyone have problems connecting the first time..

And as for the minimizing thing, there is something you can try..

- Go to the shortcut used to start BF..
- Right click and go to properties..
- You see a tab there, run normal screen.
- Change it into maximized..

And your server finding problem, are you sure you got nothing blocking BF..?

First problem solution: there is none... EA hasn't fixed the in game browser yet even after 2 years.

second problem solution: Mostly everyone is having this problem and its all cause of Punkbusters new update that is screwing with everyone. I've seen a increase on MBL of over 100 new bans in the last week and some of these are not legit and are false against people not hacking.

Only thing to solve the 2nd one is for all of us to raise hell with Punkbuster instead of posting on these forums about Client side solutions when its clearly punkbusters problem. Turning off firewalls works, killing the services A B works etc etc but its PUNKBUSTERS PROBLEM!!
