Anybody else missed out on a rank/unlock? :/

I just hit 20,000 points, but I was missing the basic knife badge, which I am now kicking myself for since it seems so easy to get.

According to something I just read on ranks, I now have to wait until 50,000 points for another rank and I won't even get my 20k unlock? It seems so unfair, I was looking forward to that as the p90 and L96A1 are the only guns I actually want now and I need over double the score I already have just to get it..

the only positive thing is that you get 2 unlocks at 50,000 no matter what badges u dont have.

Oh well that's good I guess. I only have those two unlocks & both engineer unlocks left, but I guess I can live without the engineer unlocks.

30,000 more points.. ouch.

p90 is nothing special...and the m24 is just about as good as the l9

Not quite. The sound emmitted from each is vastly different. At long ranges you can still hear a click from the M24. With the L9 you hear absolutely nothing. Tested this out with a couple of buddies awhile back when we were fooling around with sniper rifles.

You get an unlock with Master Sergeant, you don't need First Sergeant for that unlock.

Going by http://ubar.bf2s.com/ranks.php I didn't realise, but I don't get an unlock with First Sergeant (20,000) anyway apparently. I can deal with missing the rank, so long as I didn't miss an unlock. Still, 50,000 is a LOT :o

(And I'm already master sergeant)

Now i'm just confused. I went to get my knife badge for the hell of it and just got promoted to Master Sergeant. Turns out I was Gunnery Sergeant. Hmm.

edit: oh okay there are two 20,000 ranks? Sorry I'm being a newb :]

yeah u should b able to get ur unlocks even if u dont get 1st sergeant.

i prefer M24 over L96 tho. i just have this feeling where i dont have to lead my targets as much and there isnt as much bullet drop. i cant confirm it and its prob not true, but its just a feeling

Oh dear god. I forgot because of the special forces thing, you get 2 unlocks. Now I have the P90 AND the L96A1. I am a happy soldier :<

Thats wrong, i ranked last night to First Sergeant and got my unlocks, so you do get unlocks with the rank. And yes there are 2 ranks for it, 1 if you have all the basic badges, and 1 for if you dont.

I thought you still got unlocks at 20k either way. My assumption was that the higher rank was only given as a kind of reward for having those necessary badges for the requirements. So while you may have 22000 points, you'll be a higher rank than those who have 20, 30, or even 40 thousands points if they missed the requirements.

Yeah thats what i was trying to get at, just didn't come out right. I meant to say "You do get the unlocks with the other rank.
