Has there ever been just a pure sniper squad that sets up in urban areas and covers eachother. Cuz that would be pretty sweet. There probably has been one, but I haven't been playing long enough to have been in any. I know squads are supposed to be diverse for maximum effectiveness, but it would still be pretty deadly.

I saw a squad of 4 snipers (I knew they were a squad because snipers kept spawning where they were) on the roof across the river from the train accident in Karkand. In a group they really stood out, so it was easy to pick them off.
But in a map like warlord, snipers guarding the palace would be deadly, especially in I/O. :nod: -

i'm sure it's happened but it sounds utterly useless. sniper, med, support, AT, and some assaults sounds better.

i've seen a few with 4-5 snipers and one medic or suport. you'll find them on roofs most of the time nad spamming. they don't help the team, there just looking for a good K/D. too many times teams have lost because they had too many snipers. most of the time snipers are worthless to the team.
LOL, my last round i played to night i was sniper. i turned down two invites to squads and just sat around and sniped people. i came out 20/0 but it didn't help my team at all.Comment

yep...i remember i was in one in gulf of oman. we held the hotel roof and we could snipe onto some of hte beach outposts. and we also had a medic in case any of us got sniped, but it was great.Comment

Yes you did, of course. You killed 20 that didn't get revived, right? So thats 20 of the enemies tickets gone while they took none of yours. And if the enemy was bleeding tickets its even more profound.
I mean, you weren't capping or supplying, but you are making it a little easier for those who are.
Now if most of the team is snipers then its a problem.Comment

Well we have played snipers only just for the fun. Yesterday we took a copter and made an attack against USMC carrier on Dragon Valley. We did pretty good. 6 snipers pinned down enemy hardware about 5 minutes before they got us all with copters. I think our squad got K/D ratio near 5-6/1, so not that bad for those utterly useless snipers.
Say what you want, but 6 good snipers won't let you guys even close shooting range. 6 pieces of M95 against you, that is rather brute force.Comment

I saw a huge amount of snipers camping the road out of the Chinese base at Dalian. they shot all people and small vehicles and some tanks took care of the rest.Comment
