The ribbon was introduced when AF was released. You get it after playing 25 hrs on AF maps. I have it too.

quite a few of us have it already, what sucks is to get it all you need is 25 hours in the AF expansion pack no matter what team/army your on
but to get the EF medal, you need 50 hours of European Union, not just the booster pack, but 50 hours of just that army, I got 25 hours I think in EF theater but only 11 hours as EU, so basically I have to play that theater probably 100 hours unless I find a server that allows team switching every round, which the only 2 active servers I found frown on it

And I agree with gun_slinger but I'm a bit more than half way through it, maybe 20 more hours to go but it can be so boring at times... Especially pisses me off when you actually don't TS and get killed once while your on the EURO team and get TS'd back to the MEC side cuz all the jerks TS to EURO at the start... Oh well.

I know you can still get the medal for EU, but the people that got the ribbon no longer have it I think. At least, I believe all the stat sites pulled it off their listings.
