Why am I getting kicked?

can anyone help me....I have been playin bf2 for a little over a year and never had any problems, yet now when i play i'm getting kicked from online play after about 30 secs. The reason given is : Service Communication Failure PnkBstrB.exe initialization failure....can anyone give me a solution to my problem....Cheers

This should hopefully solve it:

Just download the program, add the games you wish to update (battlefield 2) and any others that you might have and click update.

This SHOULD work but lately a lot of people have been having problems with punkbuster, more than usual.

Let us know if it fixes it.

okay, i had searched for answers concerning the file punkbusterB because it was closing on me and i was getting kicked.. it appears that some people can fix this by just updated pbsetup... but others will not. i had to contact EA tech support and WOW was i surprised. i did not expect to get a straight answer but they sent me something with directions on how to change a simple thing in your registry and all of a sudden teh game works again

if you continue having problems i will send you the directions.. basically its a COMPLETE removal of pb (including manually using regedit) and a reinstall.

im having the same problems and despite reinstalling it still doesent work its in the pbsetup but it just cant connect with the punkbuster b thing

Theres a new version of Punkbuster out, you need to download it and install, to make it work,
This patches the old version!

turn off software firewalls..don't need em if you keep your computer clean.

i have updated my punkbuster and i still have the same problem. Maybe your way will help...i'll give it a go anyway
