Re: PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB, a heads up

This has been a problem for me for the 48 hours to the point where I have been kicked 14 times (Not that stats matter but it shows up anyway)

If anyone has any ideas other than what is listed below I would be extremely grateful and in their debt.

I have gone through all of the following http://tinyurl.com/2vgjoq(that link may help someone else by the way just cut and paste)

My problem is firstly when running the re install programme PnkbstrB is timedout and Pnkbstrk Is not found.

Then when I join a server I get kicked for PnkbstrB not Handshaking

By the way I have no firewalls or antivirus blocking anything.(As for the rest check the top link I have done it all)

What I love about Punkbuster (sarcasim) is that they can not provide an answer which means that I have to retire from this game which is a real *****.

I hope that there is someone who can help or I will be left to spend my nights talking to the Wife which is a pain worse than Death

This punkbuster crap has been getting me kicked off of servers left and right today. WTF is this. These processes even run after BF2 is shutdown. Is EvenBalance smoking dope?

OK FULL ON IDIOT PROOF WAY OF ALLOWING THOSE PESKY FILES TO RUN IN WINDOWS FIREWALL WHILE PLAYING B2 AND YOU DON'T GET KICKED.

*******YOU HAVE TO DO THIS EVEN IF YOU HAVE THE FIREWALL TURNED OFF OR DISABLED********

AFTER DOING WHAT STORMY {CAN} SAID

    1. Start > settings > Control Panel > Network Connections

    2. Right Click on YOUR network connection (this you will have to figure out for yourself) Left Click on Properties

    3. Click on the "Advanced" Tab and then Settings.

    4. Click on the "Exceptions" Tab and then "Add Program"

    5. Don't bother going through the list of programs in the window. IT'S NOT THERE!!! Click on "Browse and go to C:\WINDOWS\system32

    6. Add both PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe to the list

    You're DONE!!!!

I have no idea, I recently reinstalled because of a different problem, and this isn't a problem for me. I'd suggest manually updating PunkBuster if you are having problems with it. Not sure if it'd work.

This has been causing me TONS of connection problems... In the end I decided to reinstall B2 and all the other crap which took me an hour to do. I just tried it out for 2 rouns on a Highway Tampa server and so far so good but it pisses me off that there are 2 processes running in the background that remain even after I'm done playing B2.. This is total BULL$HIT!!!!!

Can we collectively fix this bull****?

What I mean, is let's work and find a method to enable and disable the services only when they are needed.

My spidey senses indicate Task Scheduler shall be used in this. All I/we need are the relevant event triggers. I have never used Task Scheduler, so I don't know how to exactly configure it. Someone could definitely rustle up their own open-source background app that launches it on BF2 start and closes it on BF2 exit, as well.

Edit: I'm warm on the trail already :)

The most obvious way is a batch file, but that won't work well with BF2Protocol (I use it :)).
