This was in the early stages of the Warlord map. My SAS brethren and I had conducted the infiltration south of the objective and had linked-up with our equipment. I was driving the LAV-25 with the 25mm cannon and was moving with the Challenger 2 tank. We rolled west across the width of the map in short order. As we rolled up the slope side by side, I thought about how the two heavily armed vehicles would soon be dominating the Plaza flag area.
Then, Woom!!! We were both toast. I was like, “what the hell just happened.” I looked at the text messages in the top left corner of my display to find that I and my comrade-in-arms had just been destroyed by C-4. I was like, “can you believe that. That was amazing.” It was all sinking in. To think someone had set that up and got a “two for one special.” Truly, amazing. I’m sure that clever bastard was doing some high fives for his successful ambush.
