Also why the hell would I want to save up my money for another 3-4 months, when I'm soon going to start building my PC, since I currently have an AGP FX5200 and I wanna DESPERATELY upgrade it. And FYI, I already know that 8900 will be coming out, and that alot of the DirectX10 graphic card would be dropping.

Because while a 7900GS is good now, it has no DX10 support.

Atleast get an 8600, about the same as a 7900GS, but with DX10. Can't go wrong.

What do you mean by judging by the cons?

Well, I have no real idea about that manufacturer. On that site the cons read that some persons card caught on fire. That doesn't sound to good to me, although it most likely was user error.

Why are you so defensive and combative in your posts? Do you have something to prove? Easily irritated?

Why wait 3-4 months like you say? Well, If you can't figure that out then you deserve what you get. Over priced cards that you could get a lot cheaper after christmas. But its your money do whatever the hell you want with it. And if you got some to burn then by all means waste your money.

What do you mean by judging by the cons? Foxconn is a very popular manufacture in Taiwan, hell alot of NVIDIA graphic card board came from that manufature. So who would you believe more in the overclocking card, the guy who paid someone to make the card, or the people who make the card?

Do you think a Foxconn 7900GS can run Battlefield 2 AA on Max? If not, what setting do you think it should be at?

Judging by the cons displayed on that link I would say get a different brand.
Possibly save up your money and wait until next generation(DX10)cards fall within your price range.

I high everything turned on high and my resolution is just 1024x760 refresh rate @ 60. And w/e the antialaising crap is it's off when I try turning it on to like 4x it says game must be restarted to take affect so I restart and it still stays on the OFF position but anyways I dont think that would affect my graphics. Here is a picture of me in-game. My only question is "Does it look good? Are my graphics good?"

Turn AA on, the jaggy edges make it look like c*ap.

Well, honestly they don't "suck" but they definitely aren't good. Turn up the anti aliasing up ASAP.
And to those of you who will say "well why don't you post up your own", here are two of my SS's.


Those are on all high w/ anti aliasing at 4x.

make sure you click the "show full size" bar at the top of the picture.

just a suggestion:

Max everything except for dynamic lighting--turn that off; and maybe turn off "lighting" or keep that on low-med.

Dynamic lighting is a big performance hit when turned up to high. With this off you might have more "room" to pump up the AA to 2x or 4x.




To FMJ: Those SS of 8x AA still look jaggy; Does quality degrade when you post a SS on this site? I run full on everything 4X AA with a 7800GTX at a 1200 resolution and I don't get near as many jaggies compared to that pic you posted.

its wide tent adaptive anti aliasing, not just regular AA. the only jaggies you see are on shadows and thats a limitation of the bf2 engine. make sure you click the bar at the top of the picture to show its true size. i put a couple more in that reply.

You can't play with an FPS below 85?

That's bull...

i didn't say i cant, i said it feels awkward and it does feel very awkward after playing twice that for years. i adjust my eye candy to keep a steady 150fps all the time unless its a major battle or arty strike, it makes a huge difference in a one on one showdown, the guy with 150fps is usually always going to kill the guy with 30fps when on foot.

i have two HD2900XT cards in crossfire though and i rarely even play at 8x, just 4x because i can not play if my fps are dipping below 85, it just feels too awkward.

You can't play with an FPS below 85?

That's bull...
