Do you guys think it is an advantage or disadvantage to join a BF2 Clan?? Also, whats the best way to find a clan of mature players who like to play to win? How do you tell if a clan is made up of people not worth being around? Just wondering and any help will be appreciated!:salute:

the biggest advantage would be playing and chatting with players your own age, it gets more important with older gamers because lets be honest, theres very few teenagers you can have a worthwhile gaming conversation with, yes there are some very mature players out there but chances are they will be very hard to come across. its much funner to play a game of BF2 when your entire squad is all chatting on ventrillo, you can spot out enemies faster and just have some fun bsing with friends and kicking butt. allot of clans are 18 and up only like ours.
another good advantage would be always having a good place to play you take pride in and thats populated all the time so regardless of the time of day you can always have a great game. i guess another good perk would be having a home web page you also take pride in and contribute too, a clans website can usually tell you the level of determination and commitment from their members.
the best way to find a good clan is play with them regularly...are they smacktards or do they play in a manor you dont like....you can always just move on.
most importantly remember you dont have to join a clan, you can always just come in and play whenever you get free time or chat with them in their ventrillo or teamspeak if you dont have allot of time to devote, most clans are nothing but happy to make new friends and meet good players, every clan has a few regulars they play and chat with but aren't actually members so dont let the whole thing be overwhelming , it doesn't have to be.Comment

I joined a clan about 2-3 weeks after i started playing and its a lot better. The main reason is just being able to talk to them. Its so much more fun once you get to know everyone and can have a lot of fun in games. It also helps with improving your skill level learning from them, if your a newer player.Comment

You can have fun WITH your clan. But as far as vBF2 goes, I agree and think clans are overrated. For PR however, a clan is great because it is easier to coordinate. The only clan I have ever been in for BF2 is the one I'm in now for PR.Comment

the best clans are the ones with ur friends that u personally know..like from school. i just find it awkward to talk to ppl i have never seen and will prob never see.
advantages of being in a clan: if theres a clan server..u get admin rights or at least a player slot. also clans tend to work together.
disadvantages: commitment. some clans require u to stay active or donate. thats about it.Comment

Advantage: playing with ppl you know, knowing their game style, playing the same tactic, better communication, a lot of fun.
Disadvantage: commitement, depending on the clan ROE.

In my experience, assholes end in ******* clans, and good people end in good clans. So being in a clan can not be a disadvantage because you will end up playing with people you enjoy playing with.Comment

There is nothing wrong with playing bf2 with some friends, even if you don't know them personally but you see them every time on your favorite map. It can be fun actually.
However I refuse to join a clan out of general principle. Just seing whole bunch of players with the same prefix makes me sick.
From my personal experience whenever I had to play with or against some clan members, more often they were acting like asholes than like honest and fair players.Comment

I enjoy being in a caln becuase we are all over 18 and have common interests. The game is more fun when you can communicat and coordinate efforts and I really enjoy match play. We are active on two TWL ladders and those rounds are a lot of fun. You just have to find the group that has members with similar personalities. With all the clans out there I'm sure there is something for everyone.Comment
