Stuttering

For some reason my comp seems to keep stuttering whenever I play this game and it is unplayable. Anyone know how to fix this?

My specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2800+
1 gig of RAM
160GB HD
Geforce 6600 256mb with 93.71 drivers

What settings you running at ?

Its either not enough RAM whilst playing on too higher settings, or your hard drive needs a good defragging.

Defragged, virus checked and spyware checked. Do it....

What type of GFX card is yours, PCI-e or AGP ?

Also, does the stuttering happen in Single Player/Multiplayer or both ?

by stuttering do you mean really bad frame rate? if so it youre pc is just is either overheating or just needs a good cleaning for the dusts and stuff... i was having a bad frame rate before and all i did was open the case and take clean off the parts inside and it started playing normally again

I have an agp card and no its not really bad frame rate its actual stuttering. I have cleaned out everything in my comp so that step has already been completed.

I just tried it on singleplayer and there is no stuttering at all so what could the problem be?

It might possibly be PunkBuster when playing online checking over your files, i get that stutter to and its a real pain in the arse. Takes about 5 minutes but then you should hopefully be stutter free.

Ugh i get this exact thing, just play a round or two, and it (hopefully) will stop

Yeah, but you better DON'T set BF2 as "high priority". Messed my whole system up.:cry:
